Comments:

This was the last Dead show I went to of about 25. At the time I thought it was an average show. I always prefered arena shown over stadiums. It was the only time I saw them play Candyman which was great.

If memory serves...this was the show when, during the first opening chords of Shakedown, that a whole slew of humanity dropped down onto the floor, and were clubbed by Giants security.

I was on acid and shakedown was amazing

This is also the show where I saw some jersey freak being dragged out of the men's bathroom by security with budweiser tallboys taped to the inside of his pant legs. Kicking, screaming...now THAT's entertainment.
-

Anon, you are both right and wrong. Yes, about 2,000 people jumped from the wall to the floor - A pretty cool sight to see. NO one got clubbed by security.
-Chad

I was about three rows up from the railing to the floor and I don't remember anybody getting clubbed either. I do remember someone throwing candy bars (100's of them) from the upper deck to us on the lower deck during Candyman. I got a Charelston Chew- it was somewhat melted but I am sure that guy was waiting a while for the right moment!!

@Pat the Pike... This was also the last show I ever saw and I think I saw about 25 as well starting with Hampton in 1987. There were some nice moments including a rockin' Shakedown, Morning Dew and Steve Miller joining them onstage in the 2nd set. All in all though the band in general and Jerry in particular were definitely on the decline. '87-'90 was definitely a renaissance and I feel priveleged to have seen the bulk of my shows during that period.

I remember the candy raining down from the upper decks, it was a truly amazing moment in time. I got a milky way and was laughing and tripping my ass off.

I remember clobbering you Chad!
Right when you got GROOVY!!!
