we had taper tickets for both nights but I traded mine this night for a front row! the hell in a bucket opener got it goin' after a great day of beer and brats and the birdsong came to life for me, first time I REALLY heard it! scarlet/fire is always great live and has always been a favorite of mine so when truckin' came around I really thought the lights were shinin' on me! but by far the stella blue out of the other one blew me away! I can still see the blue light cascading down on jerry like an angelic beam from above!! priceless... great choices to follow up stella, solidifying a rocking show! and box of rain was always a treat what a great crowd, city, and smokin' show!! didn't realize it was the iast one there? listening to the tape on the drive back made me feel like I had pirate treasure that I couldn't wait to share with everyone back at home that wasn't fortunate enough to go!! we listened to both nights over and over all the way and for months to come...those were the days!! one of my favorite memories from touring all those years that seem ohhhh so long ago now...

What a time this was... my longest "on tour" run in 10 years of seeing shows. Nine shows in twelve days from Ann Arbor through Milwaukee. There were highs and lows but way more of the former. The band was so on point in 1989, I feel very fortunate to have witnessed this marvel at one of their creative peaks. At my current age (53, Jerry's age when he died), I can't imagine going to shows 2 nights in a row, let alone 9 in 12 days.

This is a really nice two night run in Milwaukee. Very interesting way to open with Bucket>TLEO (yes they transitioned it). Also a nice cowboy combo with Mama>Mexicali, I thought MB was especially spirited. The 2nd set can't be anything but excellent just based on the setlist. Now, does anything stick out as an all timer, either one song or a particular segment? For me, not really, but again, just to hear all those songs in one set is amazing. It's as close to a greatest hits show as you can get. Also a shoutout to the previous comments from folks who were there - sounds like a great time. And Box of Rain is wonderful as always. This is just really solid all around.
