Comments:

Was this from Letterman or Tom Snyder? I think it was only Garcia and Weir playing acoustic guitars.

Letterman. Masterpiece was the featured tune with the late night band backing them

u would think that they could play a GD original, a la FOTD or Ripple instead of all those covers

It was Letterman. Bobby, David, and a stage hand picked up Jerry using just 2 fingers each. I planned to blow off the MSGs because i had nos money, until watching that show. It inspired me and my buddy to scalp 9-18. A good deal, I got to witness that excellent Dew.

Late Night with David Letterman, on NBC. this show was on after Carson at 12:30, and by the looks of Garcia and Wier, they were havin a good ole time with Letterman back stage.

Letterman gets Bob Wier to do a "Parlor Trick". I don't know what the original trick was gonna be, but as soon as Jerry says he has no part of it, Bobby calls letterman, Paul Shaffer, and a stage hand to assist in "levetating" Jerry. Which i think was just to mess with Jerry for not joining the fun.

The full appearance is on Youtube and is pretty funny. Only Masterpiece was featured with Paul Shaffer and The World's Most Dangerous Band backing up Jerry and Bobby.

The funniest part is when Letterman introduces the Video "So Far". When he asks Jerry if he wants to tell the audience whats going on in the clip, he just says "NO" with the straightest face possible, and letterman has no idea how to respond. You won't regret spending 15 minutes watching it. None of them give any fucks what-so-ever.

I guess this is the origin of what Bobby says the next night: "Hey, Rocky! Watch me levitate Garcia!"
