well, i wasn't at this show, but since no-one else has made any comment, i'll give you all a little story. One night in the early ninetys, I was sitting at the kitchen table with a bunch of teachers (I was teaching at a boarding school at the time) when we had this tape playing pretty loud. I guess we had done some drinkin and what and we were feeling loose...anyway, we all grabbed chopsticks, pens, and stuff and started banging out with the drum solo. It got really intense!

I guess you just had to be there...

This was the first show after Jerry was arrested in Golden Gate Park. High energy Bertha (throw me in the jailhouse...) to open the show.

For you ed watts fans out there - this show plays an important role in his book, U.S. Blues... I won't spoil what it is...

Sorry Dan, but jerry was busted in mid January, The LA Times did an article on it, which was printed 1/20/1985, look it up on their archive.

The first show was after was 2/18/1985.
The bertha may have been for his court outcome, since he miraculously didn't go to prison. He was busted with somewhere around 18-20 Balloons of Coc and Heroine in a briefcase and somehow stayed away from a life sentence, guess the 80's was when they began to be less stupid about convicting addicts. Either way, you should read the article about it, LA Times - 1985-01-20.

Honestly, wouldn’t have minded getting bailed out by Jerry. Woulda made a hell of a story

Only poor people go to prison for drugs . Crosby was the exception .

I was at this show. I took a trailways bus from Lawrence, KS to Oakland on spring break trip. I had to leave Wednesday to make it for Saturday show. I’m pretty sure it was first after court appearance. Jerry was wearing Red for 1st time I think. The unique Bertha One More Saturday night was only eclipsed by the completely mind blowing China>Cumberland 2nd set opener. BCT was all that was advertised. There were balloons galore for anyone who wanted them. Also out in the hall there was a poster that said “What Song Would You Like To Hear the Band Play” 85 was also my last year of taking multiple road trips. However, that year I did get to see shows in the holy trinity of BCT, Red Rocks, and Greek Theatre for Band’s 20th Anniversary shows. Thank You For a Real Good Time!
