9th show. After the show, it took a while to get out of there and onto the highway. Through the empty streets of Hartford, come to a red light. Look over and there's Garcia sitting in the back of a Lincoln Continental. We made a scene, and he offered up a high sign of "drink to lips" and of course we were all wound up for the ride home. It was a first encounter.

Clearly one of the hottest Jack Straw's ever. Smokin hot

Second set could have been from '77. (Check out 10/2/77, for example.) The Dead always brought the heat in Hartford. This is a great show for the era, along with the previous night's. Also, this October tour is on point. Highlights abound, though to my ear the great top to bottom shows are 10/12, 10/14, 10/15, 10/20. Enjoy and pass along to a friend.

49th BUCKET and not a moment too soon.

Smokin' and rare Jack/Job to close the first set.

This one cooks!

Really great opening with Bucket into Sugaree. Some great energy. No complaints about the set list. Playin' through Playin' would be the highlight for me, although I think it's a really solid Sugar Mag to close it, too. Nice little two night run here.
