Comments:

My first show. Don't remember much of it except Phil waving his arms like a bird's wings during Brokedown Palace.
-Jeff

THIS WAS THE FIRST DEAD SHOW MY YOUNGEST BROTHER WITNESSED [WE HAD 11TH ROW CENTER SEATS]. THERE WERE MANY YOUNG CHILDREN IN THE AUDIENCE THAT NIGHT WITH THEIR PARENTS [BOB WEIR ANNOUNCED AT THE START OF THE SHOW THAT IT WAS KID'S NIGHT!] I'LL NEVER FORGET THE 1ST SET AS LONG AS I LIVE- I DUBBED IT 'THE COUNTRY SET'- IT WAS AWESOME!

My first show. Went with my friend's older brother, and had front row balcony on Jerry's side. I remember the Samson really blowing me away, when as as 15 year old, I didn't know what that was yet.
-B. Real

I was there, sitting above and behind the stage (place was packed). I remember looking at Jerry's back and thinking his hair was turning black again.

My first show too. I just 13. And I was tripping my brains out. Phil was waving his arms as I remember because planes were landing right over the building- it's right by Ohare. Also, Jerry was stage right and every show after that he switched sides. Please correct me if I'm wrong
-Chris B (02/03/2010)

My first show too. My friend Will and I camped out for tickets in front of Rosemont for 3 days and pulled the whole front row. I was still in high school and the whole front row was packed with people we knew.

Dave has posted some of this show on Tapers Section, and he said:

"This is from a rare PA stereo recording that was recorded to reel-to-reel and not cassette, and helps explain why it sounds so clear and robust."

These tapes are the same ones used on the 2015 Charlie Miller archive SBD.
