Comments:

I WAS STATIONED IN U.S.COAST GUARD-FT. LAUDERDALE AT THE TIME. SOMETIME DURING 1ST SET I WAS SUDDENLY FONDLED FROM BEHIND BY WHAT TURNED OUT TO BE A TOTALLY HOT BABE, WHO THEN BEGAN TO GROPE ME WILDLY WHILE FUCKING MY FACE- THEN ABOUT 5 MINUTES LATER, SHE JUST VANISHED. AFTER THAT MOMENT, I DON'T RECALL MUCH OF THE SHOW, JUST WANDERING AROUND AIMLESSLY TRYING TO FIND MY FUTURE WIFE- TO NO AVAIL [I SWEAR IT WAS'NT THE SHROOMS, IT REALLY HAPPENED!]

Dude that was me...But I'm a Tranny!

I hitched down from Syberacuse in a blinding snowstorm to go to the Florida shows. This one was rocking...On the road again & The Race is on in the first set were highlights. 2nd set 6 songs before the drums...& the very first version of Satifaction as the encore.

This was my first show. I was 16, got in on a fake ticket, and knew little of their music..aside from FM radio tunes & Alabama Getaway..low and behold they open with Alabama! I took a couple of buddies BA & RUC (also on typed-in Cellar Door planks) I really loved it! The only other song I remember was On the road again! Knowing little about the music we asked some heads...what songs do they play? "Dude, ya know they might do a killer Dark Star and Space tonight" We were high as kites on "gold" ..so during every song break, we were yelling "SPACE..DARK STAR!!" too funny. Actually during space, I got bored and just walked around, which at 16 was a experience in itself! SO much fun. It wasn't until college in 86 before I started going to shows on a some what regular basis!

Listening to this on Sirius right now. It's a soundboard with goofy settings and you really hear the individual musicians. You can really hear the interplay between Jerry and Brent on Alabama Getaway and REALLY hear it between Jerry and Phil on Greatest Story Ever Told. Never knew Phil played "lead bass" on this song. Awesome.
-Steve (08/31/2020)

This is great example of Brent really starting to find his space in the band. Eyes he is just laying it down like light rain drops and great tone. NFA 65-95

Re: Althea and Robert Hunter - Is there another songwriter who could so eloquently use the words 'scrutiny' and 'treachery' not just in the same song but in the same verse? Dylan? That's the list.

I have long been attracted to shows that take place the night before Thanksgiving. I've always felt that "Thanksgiving Eve" is a holiday in and of itself.

Thanksgiving in 1980 was November 27th, meaning this barnburner show was on Thanksgiving Eve in Sunny South Florida...

How lucky those are who attended this show. I for one was not born. My parents were in junior high...long before my time or theirs...

Shows on Thanksgiving Eve really give you that Thankful Feeling headed into our greatest holiday...

The race is on and here comes pride up the backstretch, heartache is moving from the inside...
