The Historic
"Summer Solstice show "...
...in Anchorage..
..one of three..
While these shows were great...
there were bad times ahead unfortunately....
..supposedly Jer didn't come out of his hotel room..ONCE..during their
stay in Alaska. What a shame
to ignore such a beautiful place.
I guess his demons were really startin to catch up to the poor guy by
mid-80.

Jerry made not have come out of his hotel room, but her certainly did on Big RXR Blues and a fine Brokedown to sunset this run in Alaska. Only had crappy analog of this one for years, glad gdradio.net/archive.org have resurrected many gems.

Dark Star Orchestra did a re-creation of this show at Colonial Theater in Keene, N.H. on 11-16-06 to a very packed house. We were treated to a great show! Not only a stellar setlist of new and old, but a really long Terrapin into a short n' sweet Playin' In the Band led perfectly into a very trippy and long Drums where Bill and Mickey must've really been experimenting with some good stuff cuz they rocked the place with their dual-solo on the back percussions and the synth pad. Check out DSO if you haven't, they really do replicate the shows in their entirety.

Truckin'>Stella Blue>Sugar Magnolia-last time played 12.2.73. Truckin' has a might fine crash midway through and mellows out to transition perfectly into a sublime and sulty Stella.
