Why was this one of the last January shows ever? after this, it was 6 more, in 87 and 93

Absolutely a better benefit or show with other acts not including nrps, silver, etc. All the bigger gigs seemed doomed since Woodstock. Not this 1980 Cambodia Refugee, they were on fire with there guests.

Pouring rain waiting in line. Heads wringing out clothes everywhere inside. Joan Baez cut her set short. “You’re all too ready to rock.” Ended with a joke about a cursing parrot. Anyone else remember the punchline? Beach Boys greatest hits set better than expected. Warmed up and died out crowd. By the time Dead came on the place was ready for lift off. Haven’t heard the tape but recollection is a fine set well played. LLR a no-brainer. Jerry tweaked lyric at encore “PT Barnum and the Shah of Iran.”
Funny the memories that persist through the years. Thanks to Setlist for the great resource. Peace to all
