i like the scarlet>fire on this show...they build the jam slowly and jerry does some cool quirky stuff on his guitar including a kind of "fanning" that takes the jam up a few notches!!

I believe this is the show that was cancelled from the night before. Drove from central NJ in the snow to this show, and about 15 minutes after the scheduled start, the lights dim, and Lesh, Hart and Weir come out to the mike and announce that they won't be playing tonight, Jerry is not feeling well. So what do we do, drive over three hours home and come back the next day in the snow again. Great show, Casey Jones was a show stopper!

Actually the show was cancelled on 11-25-78

thanks Chad...my boyfriend and I just had a "discussion" involving this show. I had 6th row center stage seats for 11/25/78 and i bought greatful dead buttons with the date on them. My sister was back stage and she came down to where my brother and I were and told us that Jerry was sick and wouldn't be playing...she wanted us to get out because she didn't know if the crowd would get unruly...Best seats I ever had for a show that didn't play..

I too was there. Very strange. We took Con Rail from NY to Conn and got $10 tix on the train. We hung out all day and the band, minus Jerry all came out with the house lights on, with their instruments in hand and Bob announced that Jerry was ill and they will not be playing. I always wondered why they all came out and why they had their instruimnets in hand. Why didn't they just send out the promoter or just Bob and/or Phil and why bring your instruments??? . Me and some friends actually trecked back to NY then to Philly the next night for another cancelled show but we should have known better by that time. Had fun partying in Philly though! Did the whole thing again in January 1979 and saw 8 of 11 of the NE shows. Really amazing run. Snowy and Cold but great fun and energy.

Walked out of this show disappointed, but the tapes don’t lie, this is a good show.

Hey Carrie! Actually probably don't know you but we were 5th row center. Slept out for those tickets and met great deadheads from all around the area, people I'd bond w/through many NE shows plus Max Creek. Yeah, they cancelled and then made us leave. Insane! It was a real challenge driving down that circular ramp from the roof of the parking garage! This rescheduled show coincided with a major snowstorm. They were closing the 91 and the 95 behind us as we slid in just in time. They said they'd come back and they did!

Good Lovin' to close Set II after Around & Around. Jerry's voice is a little creaky, works well during Black Peter though. Wonderful playing and great energy throughout, and a great setlist too!

I'll never forget the party on the AMTRACK train, comming back to NYC.Train got stuck for like 5 hours @ Larchmont,N.Y.Was worth it. Bumped into Jerry in the hotel elevator on my way to the bar for a "wakeup". Fun was had by all!!!
