I had the opportunity to hear Dark Star Orchestra play this on 7/11/08 on Govenors Island in the middle of New York Harbor. Truly enjoyed the double Jerry ballads for the laides, TLEO and Roses. 1st set Estimated not paired with Eyes, less than 2 months old, but funky 70's style bass by Phil. Samson properly rocked the house to end the 1st set. Dancin' was the perfect was to open the 2nd set with a spirited sing-along for BEWoman. Then the boys blasted off into space with Playin>Drums>T01. T01 went properly 60's style psychedelic to transition seamlessly into Comes a Time which warms your heart and appreciated Jerry's overall talent. Brokedown was a perfect way to send off the fans in 77 and 08 from 14th street and the Ferry respectively.

Well played but super short 2nd set. Dancin is good but not the monster they did a week later. Playing get there but still kind of short. Any time they play Comes a Time it's special. This is still May 77 one of greatest months in all Dead history with out question

Yeah, the second set is a bit short ... It's good stuff though. Love a '77 Dancing, and it's a very unique pairing with Brown Eyed Women. Then you get just a brilliant 40 or 45 minutes to close it out. The highlight for me is actually the Comes a Time ending solo - stunningly beautiful. And then, according to my ears, they do separate jam that's somewhat related to Comes a Time but somewhat different, then work their way back to Playin'. So from when they stop singing in Comes a Time to when they start singing in the Playin' Reprise is really great, interesting stuff. The second set soundboard is really crisp and a delight to listen to, too.
