Unbelievable second set segue-fest. An underrated show in '76, a much unfairly criticized year. (It's not '76's fault it's not '77.)

I love '76, while it lacks some of the tightness and shear power of '77, killer shows abound this year. The amazing Boston Music Hall thru Beacon Theater soundboards being my favorite. 6/14-15/76 contain some of the best jams that really "take you there". I found this show well reviewed at the IA and decided to give it a spin. The Franklin's Tower is quite good and could be one of their best. I love the clean Travis Bean guitar sound Garcia plays with. This show is great and overlooked!
-Andrew (08/26/2009)

'76 should not be criticized. It may sound strange, but the marathon sets and segues of 76 remind me a lot of the 68.

... growing up in the Rockin Chester, I was able to see 12 if the 15 Rochester NY shows 1976 to 1988. We also traveled thru New England, NYC, Philly, Baltimore & DC... those were the good ole IKO IKO days. Sure do miss Jerry & Brent ...

IKO IKO on & on .......

This is I believe the first show where the Help>Slipknot! did not immediately go into Franklin's Tower. Not sure how many there are out there that do that - 9 Oct 76 is another one...

Dear Big Clarky,

You are astute-they rarely performed Help->Slip without the Franklins accompaniment. However, it occurs most often in 1976.

See 12/31/76, Help Slip NFA.

Boston Garden '91, Help Slip Fire

I also believe that there is a Help Slip Samson out there, but I dont want to misspeak.

More common for Dead and Co to do Help Slip (Fire, Eyes, Scarlet, China/Rider, etc) and reprise Slip at the end of the set...Which I Enjoy...

Dead and Company doesn't count.
