My Mom went to this show and she only paid $6.50. She said it was awesome.

Yep, $6.50 was an average price for a GD ticket(plus a 75 cent service charge)in 1976. Special shows such as New Year's Eve and A Day on the Green with The Who were a little more expensive.

Keith is prominent in the entire first set playing note for note with Jerry.
Lazy Lightnin-Bobby has some very interesting jams during Jerry's noodling

Let It Grow-Wharf Rat Long low spacey jam at the to seque quite nicely
Help>Slip>Frankin's (the last transition was a bit choppy but this wonderful combo was in it's infancy at that point)

I know some ppl are gonna flip but oh well. I like the dead better when just Billy was drummer and Mickey was on hiatus with the band. They are just tighter as a unit when they have just one drummer. With two drummers they are slightly out of sync and off at times. It makes the band sound sloppy or too loose for certain songs. Like Big River for example on this recording among others. The period from 1971-1974 was prime time. Now of course I still enjoy and love all of their eras. The single drummer period just happens to be my favorite especially up until late spring of 72 when pigpen was still alive and in the mix.
