This was my first show. The doors opened early, but not many people went in. The first thing I noticed was The Wall Of Sound. It was Massive. Then Jerry and Mountain Girl came onto the stage, and he plugged Wolf in. M.G. left, and Jerry began noodling on guitar. He had shaved off his beard. After a few minutes he unplugged, and as he turned to leave, he saw me at the edge of the stage focusing my camera, and stood still long enough for me to get a good shot. I waved "Thanks", and he nodded before leaving the stage. Phil came out and talked to a group of about 8 of us for a while, just casually sitting on the edge of the stage, completely relaxed.
During the first set, while Jerry was retuning between songs, one of the women from the conversation with Phil went to the stage with a pen and paper, and asked Bobby for an autograph. He laughed, but signed. When he went to hand her the pen and paper, she pointed to the rest of the band, and he dutifully passed them to Jerry, and then Bill, Phil, and Keith. The whole show was just a remarkably relaxed atmosphere. A perfect first show.

@Tom Boshamer - Wall of Sound was not used in touring until early '74. You must have seen a precursor to it. Would have love to have been there. You are blessed.

This is the only show ever with a Sugar Magnolia > GDTRFB > Sunshine Daydream, according to this site. Sweet!
-WillieParkJr. (09/01/2018)

Actually, this is also the first ever Sunshine Daydream, according to this site. Cool in itself!
-WillieParkJr. (09/02/2018)

Peggy O is really nice.

Nobody's Fault But Mine in full form and its everything you'd hope for.
