does somebody...ANYBODY...out there in "dead land" have a COMPLETE copy of this show??? it looks like a real winner and i can't find a complete copy to save my life.
-

very hard to find = only bits and pieces
-Anonymous

i now am the proud owner of a decent audience version of this fine show!
the only flaw it has is that it cuts into cumberland blues but after that it is complete.
-

Dark Star-The jam leaves the galaxy.
-Perrinswolf (06/28/2007)

WRS-simply the best performance I have ever heard!

Dave's Picks Sixteen
-M C (10/06/2015)

thanks for filling us in, MC - because no one here has access to internet 24-fucking-7, buddy...
- (11/03/2015)

Wow Edblack, your a dick.
-Anonymous (11/05/2015)

Chill out
This show is off the hook good. Only thing that would make it better would be if Keith were more up in the mix.
Garcia's Strat never sounded so good
-Mark (11/06/2015)

Sweet show. Especially the Dark Star>Eyes>Playin'.
-rmd (11/08/2015)

This show available via Rhino as Dave's Picks volume 16.
-Dave Fadoul (12/27/2016)

Ed Black must be off his meds

Set 1

Cumberland Blues - Peppy opener. Fun.

Here Comes Sunshine - Solid goodness.

Mexicali Blues - Really good stuff.

Beat It On Down The Line - WARBLER!

Loser - Impeccable slide work. Holy Moly, Jer!!!!

They Love Each Other - Standard '73 version.

El Paso - Busy work from Jerry. Good take.

Row Jimmy - Wow. Terrific vibe. A slow rolling tempo. Tight.

Around and Around - Nice build. (Pt.1 Berry × 3)

Brown Eyed Women - Factory sealed. Air tight. Casual and clean.

Set 2

Promised Land - Love this cover. (Pt. 2 Berry × 3)

Loose Lucy - Again I find it interesting/pleasurable that a small adjustment in tempo can change the feel of a song. This Lucy is slow/mid-tempo and it's a mighty fine listening experience.

Big River - I give this one 10 rustic sunsets !

Mississippi Half-Step Uptown Toodeloo - Standard Wake of the Floodness.

Me and My Uncle - Love that last chord there fellas.

Don't Ease Me In - If the Grateful Dead were a bar band from Memphis and they played only Big River & Don't Ease Me In... i would attend their gigs every night.

The Race Is On - Get up and dance !

Stella Blue - Blue light version.

Weather Report Suite Prelude - flawed but good.

Dark Star - Jazz feel emerges from under the darkness at the 16 minute mile marker. Bill and Jerry having a little musical convo within the ether.
Dark Star proper at 21+ mins. Imo at times kinda lethargic/dull but played well throughout. Jerry's riffing the last few minutes creates this ascending feeling but instead of coming down......

Eyes of the World - The boys are cooking! Jerry plays like a crazy person for awhile weaving in and out and around Keith's melodies. A short but scorching version.

Playing In The Band - It can't be said enough....if you're a fan of Playing listen to 73/74 Dead. Every version from 2/9/73 through this show is highly recommended. I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Johnny B. Goode - Rock N Roll. (Pt. 3 Berry × 3)

Of the 30 songs played the 23 above I would download and spin again.

23 of 30 is a grade of 76.67%

Note: This was released as Dave's Picks Volume 16 and I found a lot of treasures within the sets but as a show I found the 2/28/73 performance a month earlier (Dick's Picks Volume 28) to be more enjoyable.

Cheers !
