I was there!!! Pigpen was incredible. Smokestack alone was worth the price of admission.

My first show. A friend talked me into going (without tickets). Paid a scalper an outrageous price ($10) and had a great seat (face value: $5.50) near the front. NRPS opened for GD, both bands were fantastic.
I was hooked, and never understood how anyone gets hooked without going to a show.
Attended East Coast shows 71-78, traveled to SF for Closing of Winterland, then attended West Coast shows 79 thru present!
