This was my first dead show and I was unfamiliar ewith the band. WOW. As I remember the first set it was a medley with the theme throughout the set of going back to your mothers arms. My consciousness was a bit altered and I was not familiar with their songs at the time. The first set was just so mellow and hypnoticly beautiful.
When the second set began the trouble with the cops started. someone got the mike and said they were busting people in the back everyone stood up and was ready to rumble. Then the dead cameon and that mood was instantly changed. The cops tried to intefere with the concert everytime the dead stopped playing but the dead would just pick up their guitars and the cops just had to retreat, the music was so powerful. At the time I did not know their songs but that whole second set sounded to me kind of like "a two hour "morning dew". I do remember that their encore was truckin. I would truly love a copy of that show. Made me a fan forever.
Best Wishes Randy J.
