Comments:

Pirates World was a venue AND a theme park built in the 60's before Disney World. There was a life sized pirate ship, among other rides and games, that sailed around a river and actors on board apparently would have "real" battles with fake pirates on shore. The amusement park was used as a venue for rock shows in 1970 and 71. Can you imagine riding around in a pirate ship at a dead show? Absolutely absurd.

Too bad Disney World opened in the early 70's and the park went bankrupt. And then, just like the rest of the amazing shit that this country used to have (seriously, this digital age is all artificial happiness from images on a screen and people act as if it's real life... so sad), the land the amusement park was on became condominiums and stores.

I know that this isn't the forum for this, but seriously, seeing things like this just makes me see how Social media and political correctness have taken all the fun out of life. Maybe Skynet will become a reality and the machines will take over... that would be a little karmatic humor for the human race.

But... then again, as Walt Whitman once so brilliantly said, "We must all be foolish at times. It is one of the conditions of Liberty"

Dark Star/TOO/Stephen is unreal!

Lol, did "Anonymous" really blame social media for ruining a theme park in 1970? I'm sure Pirate's World would still be open if it wasn't for Twitter and Youtube 50 years ago
