Comments:

Lovebirds PigPen and Janis Joplin sing the closing Lovelight. She rips it apart! Two blues masters together on tape. AWESOME!!

High energy show that night. The Boys were really up. Janis took care of that part after the show.

Every time i hear Janus and Pigpen play off one another, i get goosebumbs. while Direwolf was born on this dya, Mountains of the Moon had only 2 more performances.

Dark Star>St.Stephen>Eleven-Well into another galaxy
Doing That Rag-Top notched prolonged multi style solos, salivating progression to peaks. My favorite part of this show IMHO

If this were the only recording we had of these guys we would be raving about what a great band they were. Just the DS>SS>11 is enough to serve notice.

Add in Lovelight with Janis and PP and it goes to the moon. I prefer the slower Cold Rain but it leads nicely into Doing That Rag. Just a great show and a reminder of what they were like pre Workingman's/Am Beauty.
