Eight of these tunes make up live dead from 69
-Anonymous (04/04/2012)

The original release of 'Live Dead' in late Fall 1969 contains 5 tunes on four sides (double album), an episode of 'Feedback', plus the coda 'And We Bid You Goodnight'. Performed extensively throughout '68 & '69, 'Dark Star' became very rare in concert after 1971 especially on the East coast. And while its resurrection was triumphant - note the new year's eve 1978 third set spectacular - in my estimation there is no better, spacier, transformative performance than this one. Peace, pals.
-DobbsBaby (12/22/2012)

Actually, only two of the songs make up the Live/Dead album; Dark Star and St. Stephen.

-Will (03/12/2013)

Dbaby has it right. DS-SS-The11-Lovelight-DeathDon'tHaveNoMercy on the original vinyl released november '69. Yessiree.

" Performed extensively throughout '68 & '69, 'Dark Star' became very rare in concert after 1971 especially on the East coast."

Dark Star was rare in '72?? Or '73 for that matter?

I would describe this show as pure, distilled drugs. A peak in Dead lore for sure.
