Last show. Had leave before encore was over to catch a plane out of San Jose for LA. Heard Jerry singing "Fare Thee Well...I love you more than words can tell" on the way out. 7 years later, I still miss the man.

My last show too. Whooda thunk? We had a girls only trip to this show. What a great time we will never forget. Fare the well. I miss it all sooooooo much. Thanks for the good times, good friends, good memories...all the goodness you brought into our lives. And it was ALL good !!!!

My last show too. Decided to not continue to the East Coast, things didn't feel right. I'm glad I didn't. All three of these shows were GREAT. Solid playing, family crowd, the monks! I'm glad I ended on a high note, but, of course, I still miss him, and the energy we created in those days EVERY day, and I'm still ALWAYS GRATEFUL!

My final show and the Dead's final Bay Area Show. I remember it as a great show and the encore of Brokedown Palace felt to me like Jerry's goodbye. My friend even commented that Jerry didnt look to good. It was a fitting final song for the man and group that changed my life and am eternally grateful for Jerry and the boys.

My last show...first was the Onondaga (Syracuse) War Memorial in October of 1971. I was married by 1995 and had taken my wife to a few early 90s shows mainly at Shoreline. We lived in Mt View and residents got tickets before the public back then- used to joke that The Dead had become the Shoreline house band. A village always grew at the Safeway parking lot on shoreline Blvd and dismantled 4 days later. I remember when the city finally gave in and started supplying sanitary facilities-port o potties. Anyway, when the Dead walked back out and struck the cords for Brokedown Palace I turned to wife and said please stand-this may be the last time you will ever hear this. Don't know where that came from- I just felt it in the air that night. I will never forget it.

My Final show... I really enjoyed it but Jerry looked sick and my buddy turned to me and said this could be it. I didnt want to believe him, but when the encore was brokedown, I about brokedown cause I had a feeling he was right.... Fare thee well, my honey... To all the wonderful memories.

My right knee is so very sore. Could that possibly mean that we're expecting rain? I wish I lived closer to Tulsa. I've recently discovered arugula. There's a town called Dublin in Georgia, too. I recently purchased an oscillating fan online. I always prefer spring water over purified water. Macadam roads have better gripping quality than asphalt. I had 3 deer in my back yard last nite, but a few moments later, they had vanished. We saw a Native American crying by the roadside last week, and the bloke I was riding with told me that he was tempted to roll down the window and say, "Hey, smoke a peace pipe, chief", but I quietly advised him against it. I have not picked up a Frisbee in years. My allergies prevent me from buying a puppy. Don't ever use a propane turkey fryer in your garage. Very small rocks don't float in water, but sometimes they will in gravy. No one has ever told me I have junk in the trunk. Perhaps someday. I'm handy with a cordless drill, but just the smaller ones. I've been to the top of the mountain ... almost. Bye for now.

Jerry Garcia is dead someone shouted from the veranda at 10am . Believe me i just heard it on cnn.Shut up n let me sleep, another voice cried, I dont care if Jerrys died. Memories come floating back of a sunny day in may a rural community -the fairgrounds-the sweet smell of hay.Another odor of marijuana, someone taps me the shoulder, wanna hit?Ihear them ask.Isay ill pass. Like a polite family everyone says excuse me and thank you .Or im sorry I stepped on your hand.Cause were all so mellowed out and just listening to the band. But the story in the news the very next night describes a different scene-it would give you a fright. We promise on our honor the paper read, never again to invite the grateful dead. Jerrys death was a result of a prophecy failed.Awarning to change -a threat slighty veiled had come to him several years ago. It said take care ,so he really did know ,yet it wasnt enough to stem the tide of just another human being who died. Still a gambler he was and good at the game, and his musical talents brought him much fame yet he chose to remain humble and real ,i imagine thats why he had world wide appeale. Irepeat that Jerry has died this am.Someone just heard it on cnn.He entered the abyss sometime after dawn 53yrs after he was born. But its not any good to dwell on goodbyes when someone like Jerry Garcia dies. We are here and were gone in the wink of an eye.Its a cosmic moment, and then we die. What more can i say,it made me cry.It was hard to believe he was younger than i.But we dont need to shout or to moan or to yell. Cause hes gonna go to heaven or to hell.God bless him and keep him wherever he is .And maybe hell even still be in showbiz.
