I had the time of my life in Buckeye Lake, 91 especially and 92 as well. Great summer weather in OH, rolly-polly green drive in Hebron.

Real loose camping scene, some farmer would mow over a few acres of corn and let us all camp. The town let us play so long as we played nice.

Just looking at a few comments makes me smile.

I remember Violent Femmes in 91, a pleasant suprise.

Stevie Miller in 92 was great...I remember Spoonful as well.....

I remember this show (barely) because we had finals the next day for highschool back in Erie Pa and drove all night after the show to take them at 7AM oooo that hurt but that show was awesome.

I "remember" waking up next to a drum circle, camped in some farmers lot, huge scene, clutching a jug o' red wine... WFT?! Yea haw, don't get out like that much anymore!

Also remember talking to some huge security guard telling us the femmes were opening. We thought they were f-ing with us then saw the drum set up... again, wtf?

All the Buckeye Lake shows were good. Good sized venue, all lawn.

Hornsby was awesome.

We sold ice cream sandwiches in the 99 degree heat.

Camp Coonpath anyone?

What a grate time. I remember that the venue seemed huge. Sitting in some kind of rise/hill, tripping out at the clouds floating overhead and trees below. In remember some violence femme fans in leather and Mohawks. What a scene they stumbled into. Pure bliss.

my wife and I went just kids.. had so much fun when she wanted to go to the car just as the dead come on stage i already saw the femms and was like sure why not till had a good time in the parking lot. later Shawn A. said i turned into Ward Cleaver and got everybody home safe. It was just yesterday...

what a fun show. the violent femmes were great. would love a copy of that. my friend taped them and lost the tapes over the years.

I'm happy to see that others at the show gave a nice reception to the Violent Femmes. I've felt kind of bad about booing them. Thing was, we'd all timed our party for the Dead to open without a first act and were surprised by the change. Loved the Rubin and Cherese. What a great song.

had a good time with other fans in the slow motion traffic heading to buckeye lake. met a beautiful spinner who took me home to her japanese tea house in westerville ohio. my last dead show. never a bad trip, thanks for the ride.

I always wondered why the Violent Femmes were chosen to do a surprise opening with no notice. I also recall seeing Annabelle Garcia, who seemed really happy as she danced in the crowd next to the soundboard, and was dressed a bit like a punk fan, about 20 years old, if I recall.
-GenX Man (10/15/2020)

Jerry Sang: "Steal your dumb face right off your head" during He's Gone.
- (01/19/2022)

Great Crazy Fingers and the segue into Playin is perfect. At that moment, the following thought popped into my head: "Damn these guys are good!"
-August West (09/16/2022)

I got poison oak every year @ Buckeye.
