Comments:

My first show without Brent. It was very painful to not see one of my favorite keyboard players/vocalists missing from the right side of the stage. I tried to keep an open mind about the whole thing. It was almost a hundred degrees outside that day. I saw Phil outside right before I went in. I asked him to sing something for us tonight. Little did I know it ended up being my highlight of the night when he busted out a Box of Rain out of space. Rubin was a treat. I think it was only the second one they did so far.
Hornsby was a treat. He's probably the best piano player that ever jammed with the Dead. He was very smooth and fluid, quick on his chops, and felt like he was very comfortable with the band that night.
