one of only a few "valley road" to be played by the dead.
bruce's other tune "stander on the mountain" was a gem also. too bad he didnt take the offer and become the fulltime guy.

ps- nifty setlist which i dont think the german crowd could fully appreciate. no usual roar when bobby sings "the circus is in town" during "desolation row" and just smatterings of applause at the odd placements off "bird song", "foolish heart", and "standing on the moon". also, a wonderfully jammed out "playin> uncle johns" and the surprising 1st set exploratory "bird song" that ABRUBTLY turns to bruce's "valley road". check this one out people. you wont be disappointed!
