Truckin'
Terrapin Station
last time this sequence played was 9/3/77 Englishtown.
-Perrin

Hidden gem is My Brother Esau, played regularly until 87. Not sure why they shelved it..."shadow box of the apocolyps..."
Bucket-usually set opener, interesting placement.
II
Truckin'-Brent sings alot of the song
Terrapin-Jerry flubs initial lyrics.

-Brian Merrilyn

Woman R Smarter has 2-3 Aiko Aiko lines...slipped in mighty well.

This was right after jerrys golden gate park bust the truckin busted line had the crowd cheerin
-Stagger lee (07/26/2009)

You might poo poo this by looking at the setlist. But Set II is awsome for the period. Seriously, check it out.

Saw this show. Comment above by "Stagger Lee" is absolutely accurate--I remember that well. Truckin was really special that night. It was also a great Terrapin--which they seemed to play alot in those days. It was always surreal. I loved going to these Oakland shows--especially the Chinese New Years. I was so high at this one that the music stopped, show was over and I couldn't quite believe it. I was ready for another hour or two!

The First Truckin' set opener in quite a few years. The crowd definitely got a kick outta the 'busted' line. But the truckin' melting into terrapin was definitely the highlight for me. Flubbed lyrics or not, there was some sloid playin by all. And jerry sounds like he is getting more clear headed, at least for now.
