Comments:

apparently this show has a terrible 'loser' that's full of mistakes
-

This show has the first post70's Crazy Fingers, a killer post drums NFA>Other One>Wharf Rat>Sugar Mags. Unfortunately my SHN file set is missing the encores.
-

Loser rocks. Show is very nice. Just picked up a new source with the encores. Yeah!
-MattMan

I don't mind the 'Loser'. David Gans uses it as an example of the beginning of 'the downfall'. I respectfully disagree.
-Bob's Beard (01/02/2008)

should be noted that is the first "crazy fingers" since '76

This was the best of 40+ shows I saw. The jam>NFA>Other One>Wharf Rat is the best I have ever heard the Dead sound. I was totally straight at the show so it wasn't the drugs.

I didn't really notice any mistakes in Loser. Perhaps there was one missed chord change, but it was pretty good, and "Loser" isn't really a favorite of mine. Phil drops some impressive bombs towards the end.
-Andrew (07/20/2012)

The Loser is grate! No mistakes really. And I love how the crowd was chanting 1 more set when they came back for the encore. An epic moment in Dead history. Saw every Ventura show and it was my favorite venue. 1984 were the best shows there IMO.

Downfall? LOL - wut?

Great Phil Bomb at the 6'20" mark of Ship of Fools.
