Comments:

A rather obscure shows and I don't have many highlights other than to say the Lazy Lightining>Supplication is simply one of my favorite versions, the supplication in particular is fierce with both Bob and Jerry layering guitar riffs one over the other as it builds to Bob's crescendo vocals!

At this New Year's Run there were speakers in the hallway for those who wanted to dance.

During Truckin' a bunch of people danced so hard that they broke through the floor in the hallway (yes, really) right near the main entrance doors.

The ever lovin' Bill Graham Productions crew had the floor fixed so that when we came in for the next show, there was a new swath of cement, inscribed, "In Memory of Truckin' 12/30/79" (or words to that effect.) -- Glen

Let It Grow into very weird space jam

I remember seeing Deadhead campers around Lake Merritt during that run. Apparently the Oakland authorities gave tacit consent to sleeping on public park land in December. The BGP folks also had a little soup kitchen each evening for the overnight Deadheads who spent hours before each show near the front of the line. Soon this relatively intimate scene would become too large to continue.
