ladies and gentleman, boys and girls will you still give a warm cape cod welcome to...The Grateful Dead!!...at which point the dead took the stage and kicked very very serious ass for the next 3 hours or so!!
get this one gang it's a keeper!!
-

i know this is a bold statement but believe i am serious, this is the best dead show...EVER.
-

easily the best show of 79, very possibly the best show of the 70's, and arguably the best dead show of all time. you'll be dancing your ass off.
-

My buddy from Witchatau and the Candymans' Uncle paddled down the Big River with his Brown-Eyed Women, who by the way, is Easy to Love. Minglewood, Stagger Lees dog, and a Lost Sailor named St. of Circumstance made us a Deal. He said we could be Dancin' all night long at Franklins Tower after He's Gone, but Cautioned us about 'The Other One' named Drums. He will Not Fade Away any time soon with Peter and we will all be spinning Around and Around. What more could you ask for on a Saturday Night!! By the way...This show Smokes!!

I always remember this as the best ever Phil Bomb to start the Other One. You can tell it's in a small venue. Blew out the place.

Can anyone get me this if so rtcampbell@mail.plymouth.edu
Thanks guys

Dancin'>Franklins. Love this combo from this year, Buffalo being my fav but this one is not too shabby, not too shabby indeedy!
-Brianmerrilyn (04/09/2008)

One of my favorite Grateful Dead concerts of all time. If you don't have this one, get it.

Well ! I was at this show at the good ol' age of 19. It was a very cool location indeed. But this show is certainly not "the best show of 79, ... of the 70's, and arguably the best dead show of all time". FORGET IT !
It was (and still is) a very good show but with ONLY notably a very successful and hot Dancin' > Franklin's, He's Gone > wild jam .... yes. The rest was ALMOST (!!!) business as usual. Remember folks, we were not all that compensated in 1979. Rest assured, I still have the DAT/CDR and still listen to it occassionally. So I do indeed REALLY like the show.

WOW! This is a smoker! First set is well played throughout with a nice sailor>saint>Deal combo to close out the set. But as usual the second set goes above and beyond the first with some pure magic! An all-time version of Dancin' kicks into an intense acid-disco jam followed by a very long and jammy franklin's. The rest of the set is equally mind-bending especially from the outro jam of he's gone>caution jam>the other one. Get this one now, imho the best of '79 (if there is better '79 please suggest). Peace

phil absolutely tears the other one to pieces here
- (04/20/2010)

I was "Ejected from the arena" for climbing in the rafters above the crowd. Remember the upper level exits? I was out side for less than 2 minutes when the security dude "turned his back" for a moment and I was right back in. I will however disagree that this is one of the best all time shows of the era or any other time. Good but not the 'Best".

This was my very first Dead show! Awesome!!!
- (02/07/2011)

My 1st show too! Went with a bunch of buddies after a soccer game. Can't remember how we got there or how we got back (to boarding school) but when I play tapes of the show, I can recall every detail of the folks I was laughing & dancin' with...
- (09/17/2012)

This was my first concert EVER. My college friend asked me if I wanted to see the Grateful Dead... I said nah... don't listen to them. Friday afternoon, we drive from Boston to the Cape Cod Coliseum, stand in line all day and night and the next day... because this was a General admission ticket... when the doors opened on Saturday... we ran in and I was standing front row, right in front of Jerry... Boy was I in for a treat... at one point during this epic show, this girl is screaming behind me, "Jerry is God.... Jerry is God!! I look at Jerry and he is looking over his glasses at her... smiling....I turn around and she's sitting on top of some guys shoulders no top on... no bra.... wow!! I said to myself, "THIS is a Grateful Dead show???" Look what I've been missing.... "WHAT A SHOW !!!
- (04/13/2014)

Yeah, this Phil bomb to the Other One scared my parrot into the other room. He flew back to his cage in time to get scared off my the SECOND Phil bomb.

Truly epic.

Jerry sounds a little worse for wear but plays great throughout... Candyman as Jerry's "welcome to the show" tells you all you need to know. Brent and Jerry go crazy on Dancin' > Franklin's. Phil bombs in Other One are great. Very enjoyable show overall, from one of my favorite parts of my dear home state.

WOW! Whole show smokes!

Dancin', Franklin's, and that Other One are unreal. The rest of the second set is spectacular too. Phil is, as everyone points out, on point and more this evening.
