my first show too ...! I was all of about 13 years old -- the start of an intersting journey...ended up seeing them about 60 times including live at NBC studios for one of their two Saturday Night Live appearances...culminating in meeting and hanging out with the band all night after a few of their shows in 1984 when I was like 19 or 20, quite a thrill for a young guy...once I was hanging out wit hthem and Joe Strummer from the Clash was at teh same hotel and partied with the Dead - bizarre

My first show, too! But I saw Jerry for the first time two months earlier with the JGB (Levon Helm opened) at the Spectrum on 3/16/78. Pretty awesome in its own right!

I think I went to this show 11/28/78

What I ment to type was, I have a ticket stub dated 11/28/78 but as far as I can tell the Dead did not play anywhere on that date. Is it possible that the ticket stub is wrong and I went to this show?

My first show too. I later saw 140+ shows, including a NYE run, Red Rocks, two Greek runs, the 20th anniversary at the Greek and the 50th anniversary in Chicago. I also saw lots of Jerry and Bob shows, and a sprinkling of Phil, too.

My friend Dean took me to this show, I was 16 at the time. I just learned that Dean passed away last week.

Dean, may the four winds blow you safely home.

David - 11/28/78 was cancelled because Jerry got sick and lost his voice on 11/24/78. The shows were rescheduled to January 1979... you probably used your 11/28 ticket on either 1/5/79 or 1/12/79, both at the Spectrum.
