Probably one of my favorite versions of Truckin' from the late 70s. Jerry ain't vocalin', but he rips shit up on this tune. The Winterland and preceding Giza versions of Truckin' are pretty hot too.

After Good Lovin, there was Happy birthday played for somebody, could not hear who it was for.

-

those birthday wishes went out to bill "uncle bobo" graham....the name 'uncle bobo' was the GD's birthday present to him; a name he detested until the day he died.....all in good fun, of course!!!!

Late start--35 minutes or so. Plus, 5 minutes between songs. First show I ever saw--15 years old, lots of 'old' people smokin' funny stuff, and I was lost for most of the show--till Truckin', Sugar Mag, and the encore: I heard 'em rip it up with Johnny Be Goode and knew what rock 'n roll is. Now how lucky is that?

The "Uncle Bobo" show.. Bill Graham gets his nickname.. according to his biography, he spent the rest of his life trying to return this 'gift' he got on this night!
