This is my birthday show! I'm still looking for it. Please if you know anyone who has a copy of it email me! Wow! My birthday show looks like it was a good night. I can't wait to hear the Ship of Fools & Dancin' !
The bus stopped and I got on, that's when it all began!
Thanks!

Lord, what I'd have given to have seen the Dead at MSA. For some reason, this standard 18,000 seat basketball arena had great acoustics for concerts. I've heard from old Heads who were there that it was a relatively early rock show for the venue, so the security was lax even by seventies standards. Can you imagine? I do have a tape of the second set, Help on the Way through US Blues. It is a really good show, kind of indicative of the change from the first 76 shows towards what 77 would bring. It's a touch faster and tighter than the summer shows. I really love this version of Help>Slip>Franklin's. Slipknot seems to have a dark edge to it. The Dancin' reprise is a surprise, and sounds great until Bobby & Donna start singing. Another show I have only on tape, but would love to have on CD.

August West nails it about disco Dancing... the jam in the middle is amazing... Jerry's magic fingers flying up and down his guitar. But the vocal section is unlistenable. That incessant, tedious "Dancin Dancin Dancin in the streets" makes me want to shove pencils in my ears.
