My first Grateful Dead show...Wow!
First and last GD concert in Colt Park

I remember the fence was burning during the encores!
- (09/05/2007)

What a concert, The Venue had a double fence around the field with bikers in between, when somebody climbed the fence, they would beat the sh*t out of them and throw them back over the outer fence. During the second set, the crowd outside, started pulling down the fence and did light it on fire in numerous locations! Wild scene with the fire department responding to this mayhem. Towards midnight, the police cut the power to the stage, if I remember right. After we left, we saw hundreds of cars near the venue that had been broken into or just plain stripped.... Shakedown to the max! It was an awesome concert just the same

It was my first show, too. Hitchhiked to the show from Fairfield with no ticket. I got a "miracle" for my first show and didn't even know what it meant. The music was incredible, and I was hooked. Saw more than 20 shows after that, and wish I had seen ten times more.

That was the end for The Grateful Dead in Hartford, but I saw Bobby and the Midnights, and Rob Wasserman in Hartford in the 90's. Weir and Wasserman were awesome.

Martin are you feeling OK?

Hey Martin,
Did they call 'em "miracles" then? The tune didnt get intro'd till 2 years later?

Re: "That was the end for The Grateful Dead in Hartford."

Yeah, if you disregard the 18 shows the Dead played in Hartford after this date.
