Fantastic Dew! A great show all around on the last day of the Europe 72 tour.

one of the most amazing dead shows of all time. it is truly a classic!!
a special part of this show for me is how they close out the 1ST SET with China>Rider, NFA>GDTRFB>NFA!!
unbelievable!!
-

Awesome show... The GDTRFB is very energized.
-

tears supposedly came to Garcia's eyes during this "Morning Dew"....

A truly amazing show! A must have, for everyone!
Some of, if not THE, best show i've heard. A fantastic favorite in my collection.
Second set is just pure psychedelia, just flowing on, so nice!
-

My favorite Playin'!

believe it or not, this dew is better than the one from 5-8-77

is this the last show pig pen sang?
-Anonymous (04/14/2007)

1st set has at least 3 songs that were
"last plays" seems like a block of songs
only played late 71-Europe72.
-st. steven (01/31/2008)

last time pig sang. R.I.P.

"pigpen is now and will forever be a member of the grateful dead."
-gdjake (02/20/2008)

yep...the last plays of many pigpen songs including mr. charlie, next time you see me, chinatown shuffle, and two souls in communion
- (02/01/2010)

A classic show. A real fire breathing beast. This, the final show of what you could say was one of the truly great tours, was a culmination of everything that came before it. Great energy throughout. Pigpen, fighting the good fight as his era ends. One of the best Dews.
-Doug (11/02/2010)

Thought so.. sounds like PigPen is really in and out, and Keith is also very strong in most songs.. truly sad to listen to, but amazing. too bad for the tape reel cuts in Morning Dew. Im still trying to find a good copy....;)
- (06/01/2011)

my favorite Truckin. all of them are just effing ripping it. wow thank god for Europe 72. This is just amazing.

Keith is killing it on this one.

This show is just phenomenal as is all of Europe 72. I keep finding so much more to love about the Dead. I go from a sick 78 show to a sick 76 show to a dope 85 one and then I settle in with Europe 72 and just smile in bliss. There is just so much to love.

Thank god I at least got to see Furthur and DSO with Donna this past summer. Being a 20 year old Dead fan has its drawbacks thinkin about what you missed out on but then again there is always so much to still listen to and being at places like Vibes makes you feel like a part of the family even if Jerrys been gone so lone

peace

DSO raged this setlist in Brooklyn Last Night For Jerry Day Eve. Unbelievable. Happy Birthday Jerry, We Love and Miss You so.
-Anonymous (08/01/2016)

Pretty sure this is the best version of Truckin' they ever played.
-Rockin' Ralph (06/12/2017)

Sing Me Back Home ,,,InDeed RIP Ron

Sing Me Back Home
-Anonymous (05/26/2022)

Yes to that last post. It's too bad Sing Me Back Home didn't stick around. What a song! Garcia's heartbreaking vocals and soulful guitar just perfect. Nice songwriting Merle.
-August West (05/26/2022)

50th Anniversary! I've enjoyed listening to all the Europe '72 shows the last couple of months (as much as I could possibly fit in, ha ha). So many great performances and so cool to hear the evolution of songs like Jack Straw and He's Gone. This one is the perfect capper, the glorious Dew, great Truckin' (any vocal overdubs?) and a molten PITB. Pig's last vocal performances, pulls off a strong Two Souls but doesn't join Bobby at the end of NFA. Great legacy for the band on this one. Onward!
