HOLY SHIT! This show is so crisp, so clean, and SOOOOOO DANK! The Big RR Blues opener sets the pace for a KICKASS show. The Truckin>Drums>O1>Uncle>O1>Wharf Rat=EPIC! Again, the quality of the sound is incredible, 5+ STARS!!!
THANK YOU!

My second concert after seeing Jimi Hendrix at the Berkeley Community Theater in 1970.

I had only heard of the Grateful Dead and seen the very cool posters - my dad knew the guy who made them and brought stacks of seconds home.

I loved the music immediately as well as the New Riders of the Purple Sage set beforehand (when Garcia played pedal steel). The unique blend of rock and country was exactly what I was looking for but did not know it.

I was in the far back of the balcony and had been give a seat by friends who sat elsewhere. I was 15 and the hippies kept passing me joints. I had smoked before but only with kids my age.

The stage had a red glow. It was all great but the place really came alive when the played "Casey Jones".

Over the decades I went to about 30 shows - mainly in Oakland and Berkeley but a couple in other places.

This show woke me up and changed my life.

The second set of this show is simply incredible. The Jam between other one and me and my uncle is dark and creepy. Very alluring. The Wharf Rat is beautiful (best of 71?). Then the Pig rips the roof off with Lovelight. Proper......
