I think this one of the first acid tests and I'm pretty sure this is the very first time the band performs as Grateful Dead.

San Jose Acid Test and indeed the first performance as the grateful dead. This show is mentioned in detail in Tom Wolfe's "Electric Kool-Aide Acid Test".

It was the first performance as the Grateful Dead. The Menlo concert was the Warlocks. Between the end of November and 12/4, they were The Emergency Crew.
