-Mr. Charlie (07/14/2007)

this guys effin retarded touch of Grey in 65 what a dumb ass!!
- (12/09/2008)

THIS IS NOT THE FIRST SHOW!
Warlock fet. Jerry Garcia Sept. 19, 1964 @ Palo Alto High School. I have the show poster at my house. Bought in Massachusetts from a gypsy.
- (12/12/2008)

I believe this is the first show. They never performed as the Grateful Dead until this show. They formed back in early '64, but were not the Dead until '65.

Technically, it is the first Grateful Dead Show.

Touch in '65, LOL, just trying to get some heads upset, and he did a good at it.

Peace all
-First show (12/27/2008)

I have that same poster, "The Warlocks feat. Jerry Garcia, Palo Alto High School." I've often wondered about how real it is, the picture of them on it standing in the doorway pointing in all directions was taken November of 1965 by Herbie Greene making the 9/19/64 impossible. Plus, in September of '64 they were still doing the Mother McCree thing. Anyways, still a cool thing to have!
-Dave (01/03/2009)

I'm pretty sure they played Samba in the Rain and Liberty too
-The Man (03/09/2010)

-vologases (03/26/2010)

I'd really like to track down any audio of this date, as well as 12-04-65. Pretty much the only things that "might" have been recorded that I don't have.
Anyone? carolina_metalhead@yahoo.com

-Johnny G (01/19/2011)

-Johnny b (02/17/2011)

My friend went to this college and worked as the campus promoter. the truth is they teased Touch and then busted into a juicy easy answers->long way to go home-easy answers reprise. it was roughly 60 minutes of vintage dead, they left the small platform stage for 1/2 hours and then played the longest version of I fought the law at just under 4 minutes. I have the poster on ebay currently with some other rare acid test artwork
- (02/24/2011)

-Blind Man (02/21/2012)

Best BLOW AWAY ever!!!!!
- (03/09/2012)

Was Jerry still on banjo at this point? Cause i have some shows from '62 - '64, and Jerry's only on Banjo.
Obviously these aren't dead shows. It's Mother McCree's, Hog Stompers and Wildwood Boys. But regardless, he is only playin Banjo. When did he switch completely to Guitar?
-Murphy (10/05/2012)

I was there, I do rremember a touch of grey in the first set. Everybody is forgetting the unbroken chain > Ruben and cherise from the second set though.
- (09/01/2013)

This was obviously the show where they teased broken arrow for the first time. It was seriously mind blowing. Also best touch ever, no doubt.

- (11/30/2014)

That "touch of grey" comment...had me almost rolling :-)

First GD show!!
-Chris (02/18/2016)

Don't forget the only versions of Cucamonga, France, and Equinox ever played, as well as the tasty TOO>Dark Star>TOO encore sandwich!!!
-Anonymous (06/23/2016)

To answer Mr. Charlie's 12 year old question:
The longest Dark Star was played on 5/11/72, Rotterdam, clocking in at 47 mins. However, it was DS>Drumz>DS. Therefor, longest Dark Star is technically 12/6/73, Cleveland, clocking in at 43 mins. However, I still say it's Rotterdam
